William Murdoch Primary School was created following the amalgamation of Wilkes Green Infant School and Wilkes Green Junior School on 1 May 2019. Working in accordance to our motto Scientia Mentem Luminat, which translates to ‘Knowledge Lights Up The Mind’, our children are given the opportunity to enjoy a broad academic curriculum that is knowledge-rich and complemented by an extensive extra-curricular programme.

Through the deep commitment, hard work and inspiration of the staff and governors, the children are encouraged to show ambition, think critically, be creative and to make the most of the opportunities available to them in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support. We value strong partnerships with parents and carers and believe that working together is key to every child’s success. Safeguarding and the welfare of our pupils are our highest priorities, and we are committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
