William Murdoch Primary School operates a ‘soft start’ to the school day with doors opening for pupils at 8.40am every morning so they can read for pleasure. All pupils must be in school by 8.50am, which is the official start of the school day. Being on time every day is vitally important as it ensures pupils do not miss important learning. The end of the school day is 3.20pm for Group A (R/Y1/Y3/Y5), and 3.25pm for Group B (Y2/Y4/Y6); it is vitally important that all pupils are collected promptly. If a pupil attends an after-school club, they should be collected from the location provided on the club letter your child brings home promptly at 4.30pm. If pupils are collected late on a regular basis they risk losing their place in the after school club.
